Summer Indulgence: Capturing The Bakers Duck's Artisan Pastries
When The Bakers Duck wanted to showcase their summer collection, they needed content that told the story of craftsmanship while transporting viewers to a sun-drenched Mediterranean escape.
Our brief was clear: capture their summer collection pastries and Christmas desserts in a way that felt both luxurious and approachable. The way this was achieved was through a mixture of a poolside Mediterranean shoot, a minimal food shoot where the pastries and beverages were front and centre, and finally a series of four social media videos which highlighted some of their most popular summer pastries, following Head Chef Millie in the kitchen, showcasing the craftsmanship and care that goes into every pastry at The Bakers Duck.
Creating the Mediterranean Aesthetic
We chose a poolside setting bathed in warm, natural light to establish the visual language for this shoot. The goal was to evoke lazy summer afternoons on the Mediterranean coast, where indulgence feels effortless.
By using classic summer props such as a bold striped beach towel, a worn-in cowboy hat and sunglasses, we were able to compliment the poolside setting perfectly, conveying the slow, relaxing Mediterranean afternoons.
